You may have reviewed a lot of building ads in the past few days if you are contemplating a pre-fabricated, pre-engineered steel building. There is no shortage of these ads on television, the Internet, or radio. Here’s a sample, “The least expensive all-steel buildings obtainable - get one of these bargains ““ now!” Are these manufacturers pitching top-of-the-line all-steel buildings or cheaper models
There are superior steel buildings sold at competitive prices by good steel building manufacturers and dealers - generally at a fraction of the cost of a more standard structure. This article does not zero in on these steel structures. The inexpensive, “economy” structures can be of little value. High-end pre-engineered steel systems make use of solid 26-gauge steel. Economy steel structures often use 29-gauge steel. For occupied pre-engineered steel buildings, this is not a good thickness to build with. And upkeep is often more necessary for 29-gauge structures compared with 26-gauge pre-engineered buildings.
Consider older Quonset structures. Quonset huts are, in effect an inefficient structure, making heating, venting, and air conditioning costs over the life of the “low cost” structure very pricey over time. They may initially have low prices, but the expense of insulating such structures can be dismaying and place the cost of the Quonset hut way beyond the cost that the consumer could afford.
To determine what steel structure system to select, compare and contrast it to a looming surgical procedure. You can search for the cheapest physician or one who will accomplish a professional operation that will be effective. If you are contemplating top quality that results in success, consider the highest quality building manufacturer for your project. You will finish the design and rigging with the manufacturer. No “middleman” costs need be spent. Although these manufacturers may not give you the “cheapest” steel structure, they will present the best available price today for a top notch product. Only commercial grade components should be considered.
